FAQ

What does the PokéBonk Lab do?
It spends Stardust on permanent Training upgrades (damage, HP, speed, experience, PokéDollars, luck, pickup range, regeneration, armor) and run-team upgrades, and shows the item pool.
How much do Lab upgrades cost?
The first levels cost 80 to 140 Stardust each in v0.7.2, from Magnetism at 80 to Fortune at 140. Later levels may cost more; we have not checked.
How many upgrade levels are there in the Lab?
The Upgrades tab showed 87 levels in total in v0.7.2, of which the nine Training cards make up 56.

What do the Training upgrades do?

Upgrade Effect per level Max level First-level price
Training +4% damage 8 100
Stamina +8 max HP 8 100
Agility +2.5% speed 6 120
Study +5% experience 6 120
Trading +8% PokéDollars 6 100
Fortune +5 luck 6 140
Magnetism +0.6 pickup range 5 80
Leftovers +0.2 regeneration 5 120
Shell +2 armor 6 120

Observed, Beta v0.7.2. The header reads “Upgrades 0/87 levels”, so there are 87 upgrade levels in total; these nine Training cards account for 56 of them, and the rest sit under “Run team — slots, options and tools”, which we did not record.

Which upgrade should I buy first?

The screen does not rank them. Our reading, untested: cheap levels that help every run — Magnetism (80) for pickups, Training or Stamina (100) for damage or HP — are an easy start, and Trading boosts the money you spend on Poké Balls and Meowth.

How do I earn Stardust?

The Lab shows your Stardust balance at the top right. Stardust from KOs is capped at 780 per run (Patch #4), and the Lab’s reward from a run shows in the summary as “Star Sand” with the same icon. Higher difficulties pay more — see the difficulty guide. Official / Observed

What is on the Items tab?

The Items tab reads “67/102 in your pool” on a fresh guest profile: 102 items in total, with filters All (102), Discovered (0), In your Poké Balls (67), To discover (35) and Archived (0). Items are grouped by rarity (Legendaries, Epics, Rares…) and each card shows its effect and a maximum. An “Archive” button reads “Unlock it in Upgrades”; we did not check what it unlocks. Observed, v0.7.2. See the items guide for the cards we recorded.

Does the Lab differ between profiles?

Yes. What you have discovered, the pool and your balance belong to your profile, so another player may see different numbers.

Sources & verification

Sources: the game’s official patch announcements (api.pokebonk.com/news, Patches #1–#7 and the maintenance update, 15–18 Oct 2026, US Pacific Time), plus our own observation of the game in Beta v0.7.2 (Patch #7) on 18 Oct 2026. The Lab was read in an isolated guest profile with 0 Stardust, so nothing was bought. Prices are the first-level prices shown on screen; later levels may cost more, which we have not checked. Each fact is labelled Official (from the announcements) or Observed (seen in the game UI). Patches overwrite one another, so numbers may have changed since; we have not re-measured every value.
